And that I should give up on my goals
All they saw were my nerves taking over
So they predicted a life full of failures
Warning me that there was nothing I could do
For the longest time I believed their words
Nothing I did ever went how I wanted
Living a life filled with temporary friends
Led me to believe that I was unneeded
That’s when you stepped into the picture
And brought a feeling that felt so new
The clouds parted as I began this expedition
With pockets full of newfound hope
Now my life is a beautiful contradiction
And no longer hangs on a short rope

Emptiness is what used to fill me up
Contesting it wasn’t worth the sacrifice
When I had to look at myself close up
The truth is what I could not analyze
Striving for better would be a hard task

At first I held onto numerous doubts
Just to secure my own protection

Wanting me to follow a different direction

I wrote this song today after realizing that my doubts towards something were really silly and pointless. This is the first happy song I have written in a long time and I hope you like it. (Don't be too surprised by it haha.)

the beginning is a part of my life. my culture and family expects so much from me yet i always fail. my goal of becoming an artist, my parents tell me that art doesn't get you anywhere. in some way i agree with them, but it does make me want to change. and having friends who aren't exactly who'd you expect them to be and it having the friendship that never lasts.
